Subic Bay International Airport. (Philippines)
Project Manager for the installation of Cat 2 Runway Centreline and Touchdown zone lighting at Subic Bay International Airport. (Philippines)

Airport Electrical was engaged by Federal Express Limited to undertake the design and installation of Category 2 lighting. This included runway centreline, touchdown zone, edge and approach lighting. Specific attention was taken to ensure that all aspects of the installation were undertaken in a manner suitable for airport works and that no short cuts were taken.
The design had to ensure that all equipment continued to operate in severe monsoonal conditions including the approach lights which had to be mounted out in the South China Sea. The work involved close liaison with the airport authorities, local government bodies and airport users.

October 2003
Maroochydore The Sunshine Coast Airport
Installation of Precision Approach Path Indicator Lighting, Maroochydore

The aim of this project was to optimise the use of the existing control system and field cabling. The existing TVASIS control system was successfully modified to allow PAPI’s to be installed. All modifications had to ensure that control functionality of the new PAPI’s mimicked that of the existing T-VASIS and that no modifications had to be made in the control tower.
